CJ Martha Koome challenge judges of the appellate court in Nakuru to conclude 500 cases
Speaking during the launch of a permanent Court of Appeal bench in Nakuru, Koome says the new court will come a long way in dealing with a backlog of cases in the appellate court. Koome appointed Lady Justice Fatuma Sichale as the presiding judge with justices Lydia Achode, Weldon Korir and Fredrick Ochieng transferred to the Nakuru Court. Court of Appeal President Daniel Musinga on his part lauded efforts to have 29 judges sitting in the court of appeal after the appointment of 4 new judges of the appellate court 2 weeks ago. CJ Koome hinted at launching another court of appeal in Eldoret to add to the list of 5 appellate courts of Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Nyeri and Kisumu.
